![]() my wife would probably disagree and say we should be saving for a house. You can use best buy money to buy kindle cards, amazon doesn't distinguish between kindle moneys and amazon gift cards - it just adds it to your account.Įdit: yes I did just get married, but I paid off the wedding and honeymoon in full so I'm sitting in a nice place. Provided I can use the Best Buy money to buy an Amazon gift card or something because FUCK Best Buy. I was going to blow it on myself, but now Secret Santa is up and I might just save it for my Santee. I traded in an old tablet for 50 bucks in Best Buy moneys. ĭidn't you just get married? I hear that's a great way to not spend. I think they could have set aside about an hour or two and made some super slick controller button prompts. That was a total of 25 minutes work, and part of that was making a whole new shapeform for the control stick. It's not some shiny, super-cool triple A button icons, but: I was curious about this, so I tried a quick mock-up. I'm not a video game developer, but "UI work like button images takes time!" seems really flimsy to me as they would already have those UI elements done and in place for the console version. I find it hard to believe that the images used for button prompts were available to them on the console but not on the PC. I don't doubt that there would have been work to do to fully realize controller support. At any rate, I'm glad they finally saw the light and support controllers in DA3. So it might just be they were running tight and never prioritized it, assuming their audience was mostly KBAM anyway-not a very good reason, I think, but there you go. "It may seem minor, but our GUI team was already stretched thin, and things were coming in at the last minute, so we couldn't add more work." "There is a development cost in terms of time/effort to get all the graphical user interfaces so 360 buttons show up on PC," senior designer Manveer Heir explained to Eurogamer reader j0hn385 on Twitter. When it gets too bad and I really really want to buy something, I'll either take a day off from reading this thread or just buy a super cheap indie game bundle, at least then I can feel like my money went partially to charity and that helps justify it!Įdit: Hope that didn't come across as whiny - I certainly have enough to keep me busy that I don't need to be spending anyways! It can feel very restricting to say the least. There are upgrades to my PC I'm dying to do, but I know waiting is better. There are a ton of games I really want to buy but aside from occasionally splurging $5 here and there I'm really not able to spend much. ![]() As a result most of my purchases are with card sale money or trading in stuff at local stores. ![]() We're trying to pay off our past debt mistakes to try to get into a house. I'm in the no spending boat for a different reason. Maybe I'll prune my Amazon wishlist, wife's been complaining she doesn't like anything on it. Someone post something benign about a game, you know, for old times sake. What do you guys do to not spend? I tried playing games but I feel like I need to scratch that retail therapy itch. I've opened and closed the window for EVGA Step Up several times and been staring at this new PC case for days. Man I'm fighting so hard not to buy anything, I don't want to make it hard on my Santa, and also I should save for my Santee.
